Pocahontas is stirring in her grave....

Bear baiting is one of those sick demented sports that people play just to see someone suffer for their entertainment. It consists of one bear, with its claws and teeth removed in the cruelest way imaginable, and usually a pair of dogs, vicious and armed with sharpened teeth. The bear is usually tethered, which means that the bear is tied to either a pole or a stake. Owners release the dog as soon as the bear is within the ring. In South Carolina, underground bear baiting is known as "bear baying". The term "baying" comes from the act of the dogs trying to keep the bear at bay, since in South Carolina hunting is common. During the hunt, the dog is supposed to alert the own by barking, in a sense, "baying" the bear. Several organizations, such as the Humane Society of United States, focus on saving and protecting all animals that are being violated and neglected. Recently, many protesters have been trying to raise awareness of the issue of underground bear baiting in Pakistan. Pakistan remains of the major countries that still practice this form of prevented entertainment, despite the fact that bear baiting has been outlawed.
